About the Epidemic
The number of opioid overdoses has surpassed murders in the city of New Orleans in 2017 so far. Something needs to be done to combat the problem. Through education and addiction recovery services greater New Orleans, as well as the country, can overcome this epidemic. Opioids could be hiding in many of our cabinets and we don’t even know it. Opioids could be obtained legally, yet addiction and overdose can still occur. After a steady decrease of heroin use since the 1980s, we have seen a spike as opioids become more difficult to obtain. This problem affects all of us; no one is immune. Please take this opportunity to learn more today, you could save a life, including your own.
